What is Muay Thai?

Muay Thai is a powerful striking martial art from Thailand known as the “Art of Eight Limbs” for its comprehensive use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins as points of contact. With origins rooted in ancient Siamese battlefield techniques, it has evolved into a globally popular combat sport that is as much about cultural tradition as it is about physical combat. Its effectiveness relies on generating immense power through rotational movement and dominating opponents in the clinch, making it highly regarded worldwide for competition, practical self-defense, and as a demanding full-body workout.

Our Philosophy and Heritage of Muay Thai

Welcome to Sacred 8 Muay Thai, a gym dedicated to preserving the authentic Art of 8 Limbs. Our training is founded on the core values of discipline, respect, and raw technique, honouring the deep cultural roots of traditional Muay Thai and Muay Boran.

Our founder and head instructor, Kru Craig, embodies this mission. As a fully accredited instructor in Australia and a Nationally recognised Kru (Teacher) in Thailand by Kru Muay Thai Association, he brings a wealth of authentic experience to our gym in Toronto, NSW. His skills have been forged over many years of dedicated training, from local rings to the heartland of the sport in Thailand. Kru Craig is also a registered Combat Sports Trainer/Second with Combat Sports Authority NSW, and also holds a current working with children check and First Aid certification.
This unique perspective allows our training to blend time-honoured methods with modern, effective skill-building and conditioning practices.
